Old Saybrook received a Brownfields Assessment Grant from the CT Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) to conduct an environmental contamination assessment on nine former industrial properties located along Mariner's Way. ~Old Saybrook hired the environmental engineering firm Tighe & Bond to conduct the study including: Phase I, Phase II and Phase III assessments on the property; a Hazardous Building Materials Assessment on the buildings; and develop Opinions of Probable Cost to remediate the contaminated areas. ~The~Summary of Findings~is an overview of the assessment results.~
A public presentation of the findings will be this Thursday, October 19 at 9am in the First Floor Conference Room of Town Hall.
